Paid Time Off (PTO)
PTO allows employees to take paid time away from work for vacations, illness, or personal needs. Because we know different people have different needs, employees are allotted a single PTO pool of time with flexibility in how they manage it.
- The number of PTO days are allocated based on seniority - both at the Bank and acquired via other banking (or department-related) experience.
- Employees typically get eleven paid Bank holidays per year.
- The Bank provides short- and long-term disability insurance for protection against lost wages during absences for qualifying medical conditions.
- Employees receive PTO to volunteer during regularly scheduled work hours.
Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
The EAP provides employees and their families confidential access to professional counseling services and referrals to appropriate community and private services.
Flexible Work Arrangements
Flexible work arrangements are available for many positions and allow employees to work at home, on the road, or in a satellite location for all or part of their workweek. The program also offers non-standard work schedules such as flexible hours and compressed workweeks. Bar Harbor Bank & Trust considers these various arrangements to be viable, flexible work options when both the employee and the job are suited to such an arrangement.
Wellness Campaigns
A variety of wellness campaigns are run throughout the year in which all employees are encouraged to participate. Programs may be competition-based or educational in nature. Through these events, employees may be rewarded with health and wellness items such as Apple Watches, gift cards to local sports outfitters, or sun safety kits.
Logo Wear
Employees are provided vouchers to purchase logo clothing to wear in the workplace to represent the Company in a professional and consistent manner.
